License Terms

These terms are the agreement between you and MirrorEthic LLC for Hologram Pro (the hologram-cognitive-pro software). You accept them by purchasing a license, activating a key, or using the software. The open-source core, hologram-cognitive, is separately licensed under MIT and is not limited by this agreement.

1. License grant

With a valid key, MirrorEthic grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Hologram Pro on up to three machines you control.

• Perpetual ($99): use the software forever, with updates for one year from purchase. After that year you keep every version you were entitled to.
• Subscription ($12/month): use and updates while the subscription is active. If it lapses, the software degrades to the open core — it never breaks your setup.

2. What you may not do

• Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publicly host the Pro software or your license-keyed package index.
• Share license keys beyond your three machines, or circumvent license validation.
• Remove copyright or third-party notices (see THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md in the package).

3. Your project, your data

Everything Hologram produces from your projects — the working sets, the causal research graph, project memory, the blackboard — is your data, on your machine. MirrorEthic claims no rights in it and never receives it. The complete inventory of what the software touches is published at FOOTPRINT.md and enforced by the package's own test suite.

4. AI tools

Hologram supplies context to third-party AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Grok, Cursor, Gemini and others). Those tools, their outputs, and your use of their outputs are governed by their own terms. Hologram can refuse actions that cross boundaries you have recorded, but it does not review, guarantee, or take responsibility for what an AI tool produces.

5. Updates and availability

Updates are delivered through your licensed package index and the in-app update channel. We may change or discontinue features in new versions; a perpetual license always keeps the versions it was entitled to. License revocation for breach degrades the software to the open core.

6. Warranty disclaimer

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MirrorEthic's total liability under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the software in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, code, or profits.

8. Termination

This license terminates if you materially breach it and do not cure the breach within 14 days of notice. On termination you stop using the Pro software; sections 3, 6, 7 and 9 survive. Your rights in the MIT-licensed core are unaffected.

9. General

This agreement is governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which MirrorEthic LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules; the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive venue. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. This is the entire agreement for the software and replaces prior discussions. We may update these terms for future versions and purchases; the terms in force when you purchased govern that purchase. Material changes are announced in the changelog.
