Install with pipx (recommended). pipx puts Hologram in its own isolated environment — it won't touch or conflict with your other Python tools, and it handles your PATH for you. If you don't have pipx: python3 -m pip install --user pipx.

Install (put your key in the index address; it is your private package index):

Updates: Hologram tells you when a new version ships (hologram license status shows it) and updates itself with one command — hologram upgrade, which is pipx upgrade hologram-cognitive-pro when you installed from your index.

Your key covers 3 machines; manage activations any time from your Polar purchase page. Questions, problems, ideas — [email protected] gets read by the person who built this — expect an answer within two business days, usually much sooner. Include hologram license status and hologram --version output for anything technical; security reports to the same address, "[security]" in the subject.

Troubleshooting

“hologram: command not found” — pipx put the command in a folder that isn't on your PATH yet. Run pipx ensurepath and open a new terminal. Every command also works PATH-free via python3 -m hologram … (e.g. python3 -m hologram license activate HP-…).

Don't use pip install --force-reinstall — on a shared Python that drags in incompatible versions of numpy and prints scary red errors about unrelated tools (aider, gradio, …). pipx sidesteps this entirely by isolating Hologram. Already tangled? pipx install the wheel and ignore the global mess.

Prefer a venv? python3 -m venv .venv && source .venv/bin/activate && pip install --index-url https://hologram-license.gman1911-gs.workers.dev/v1/pypi/HP-XXXX-XXXX/simple/ "hologram-cognitive-pro[mcp,hooks,memory]" — same isolation, but the commands only work while that venv is active.
